OUR DESTINATION WEDDING

The Wedding

As you may know, earlier in the year we were in the midst of planning a big wedding celebration. Then Covid-19 struck and for us it brought what it did for many - uncertainty. This gave us time to reflect and think about what we really wanted. For us, the most important thing was to be able to share our special day with those closest to us. We therefore decided to change course and instead opt for a small wedding in one of our absolute favourite places – Slipper Island.

We would love for you to join us for our little wedding getaway. Slipper island is a 15 – 30 minute boat ride from Pauanui. The island is surrounded by crystal clear blue water and there are plenty of activities to fill the days – snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, exploring the island and its farm animal inhabitants.

We have exclusive use of the island that accommodates 30 people for 3 nights and have listed all the details below but if you have any questions please reach out to us.

Accommodation

ACCOMMODATION

Renting an island doesn’t come cheap and as much as we would love to be able to shout the whole experience it unfortunately isn’t in our budget! Therefore, for the 3 night stay we’ve subsidized the accommodation expense as much as possible and ask that you please contribute $100 per adult per night for the stay ($300 total per adult). This will include transport to and from the island, accommodation and all meals during your stay.

The accommodation is a mix of room types with capacity for either 2 or 4 people. We will try and make this work as best possible and let you know your room prior to the date.

Children / babies are more than welcome to join as it’s a completely family friendly trip. Additional bedding may need to be brought for them however.

Food and Drink

FOOD & DRINK

As the island has no shops etc. we will need to take all food and beverages over with us on day one. We will provide the food for breakfast, lunch & dinner on all of the days on the island, with catered food on the wedding night. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.

Alcohol will of course be provided for the wedding day / night however if you are wanting any drinkies on the other days we ask that you please bring these with you, along with any snacks you may want. Each room has a mini fridge to store these and there is also a larger fridge in the lodge.
